I feel so used

I love used book stores, I love going in with a slim chance of finding what I need and succeeding! I like to sometimes go in without a specific book in mind and wander until something calls me. I really enjoy finding well loved books, with underlined verses, notes in the margins and he BEST is when I find a book with a handwritten wish written in a book given as a gift. I feel so sneaky that I now have the book and the giver does not know that the receiver brought it into a used bookstore to be adopted. Sometimes I cheat, I like the notes in the margins because it gives me clues as to what to analyze, what the deep meaning is. I decided to buy Dante's "Inferno" and when deciding which of the 10 used copies to buy, I opened one and found an airplane boarding pass stub - is it weird that I find this cool? Paid 90 cents for 4 books.

I am not five anymore

Tip: don't use the words "interesteing" or "different" when you cannot otherwise compliment something. This works for children, they don't clue in. Adults know this trick, so really it is a pretty clear cut way of saying "I don't really like it, but I think that I am really cunning and will use these words so you do not take offence". Sorry, but use your noodle, all adults know this technique, it is actually insulting. I think it is a better idea to fib and say, "That's neat", no details, just a vague compliment.

that's not you

"that's not you" he replies when I showed him an off-the-shoulder shirt in a catalogue. well mister, i think it is "me" or i just might make it "me". i am totally going to look into buying the shirt, had he not said this, i probably wouldn't.

got a pedicure in the mall, had to walk the long mall in those thin flipflops they give you, i wonder if anyone noticed. bubble gum toes peaking through my mules today (warm here), i like bubble gum toes.

??????

"I'm listening" she says as she walks away into a whole other room with her back facing me. "Yup, sure seems like you are listening" I think as she does this for the five-hundredth time. I stop talking and go back to my office, she must not have noticed (even though she was "listening") since she did not come back to finish the conversation. This is the same person that tried to sell me a can of diet coke and also asked for half of my orange the other day. The world is full of all sorts, I suppose.

I hate how days fly by, but some hours seem so slow. I wish I was a millionaire, then I feel like I could savor every moment of life - rather than work to make money to create savorable moments....or wait until time off to find savorable moments. I do have some great moments at work...but seem to have more of them when on nice vacations. Oprah seems to be able to savor lots of moments, is it the money or her spirit, maybe both?

rise and shine

I woke up to the best sounds about a week ago, rain outside and my dog snoring....two of my favorite sounds. Yesturday I woke up to the worst sound....my cat barfing, turns out she was barfing up an ear plug.
